022508 Ride Planning Meeting

Ride Planning Meeting, February 25, 2008

       On Monday night I decided to go to the road captains meeting a listen in . I was amazed at all the master minding that was going on .You could almost smell the smoke coming out of their heads as the wheels were turning and they all were all were thinking and planning .

      Mike Ricker and Dave DeFiore went over the calenders for the up coming months with everyone. The calenders are just about full going into the month of June with some fantastic rides and events ! As they go thru thecalenders and find that they have an opening for a ride, or someone needs to change a date on one of their rides or has to cancel their ride , someone is right there to step in and say they will lead a ride on that day or will just fill in and lead the ride for that person.

      When they plan the rides they try to pick the country roads that are least traveled by cars and trucks so that we can relax as we ride to our destination. The road captains give it their all . They want to make their rides fun and interesting so everyone will want to join  them on their ride.

       The over nighters take some good planning. . First they have to pick a place to go that is going to be somewhere that sounds like we will have a great time and that will appeal to hopefully alot of people. They have to find the motel or inn we will all be staying at, check out the area to see what is around that we might enjoy and most important where will be eating !!!!!!   I talked with some of the road captains that have done over night rides and they said that they have fun putting the whole trip together. They said they it is worth the time they put into the ride or over nighter when  they see everyone having a good time !!

        I think that we are very lucky to have the 20 great road captains that we have in our chapter !!!! I personally want to thank them all for all their hard work in putting these  rides together  so that we can all do some wonderful riding and have some fun filled adventures with great friends !!!!!
