Progressive Breakfast, March 22, 2008

Ride led by Roger Reed      Photos courtesy of Eilene Henderson

On Saturday morning we had our LOH Progressive Breakfast Ride. We had a very nice  group of 10 bikes and 15 people when we started out on this ride. We ended up with 12 bikes and 19 people and 1 car by the end of the day.  On this kind of a ride we visit the homes of some of our chapter members who have volunteered their homes  as a place for us to stop in for a quick bite to eat. They have all kinds of goodies just waiting for us!!

Our first stop was at Pam and Mike Richards  house.  Roger Reed took us on a nice little ride over to the Richards.  When we got there they had some very much needed  hot coffee waiting for us !!!  They also had juice,  some banana bread,  and some cut up fruits to nibble on.  This was the appetizer part of breakfast !!  We all hung out for about 45 minutes. or so and then it was time to head to stop 2 .  Mike and Pam joined in the ride to our next stop.

Our second stop  was at Nancy Redding's parents home.   Again Roger led this  happy go lucky bunch  of I'm ready for the next course ,bikers  to the Redding home.  Nancy's family really went all out for us .They made fresh corn beef hash , two different kinds of pancakes,  scrambled eggs and toast.   They also had live music for us while we ate. They played the organ and the piano . Some of us, like Don Koppin , sang along with the music and others danced.  It was great !!! After we finished the main meal it was time for dessert and our third stop .  Ed and Bonnie Kozlowski's.

After we finished eating and thanking  Nancy's family for all that they did to make our visit a great one,     Roger  told us it was time to get our hogs up and rolling  and head out for some of those great sticky buns that Ed and Bonnie had waiting for us.  We couldn't get to our bikes fast enough!!!

Our third and last stop was worth waiting for. Ed went all out with his sticky buns. When we got there they had just come out of the oven so they were warm and delicious.  Ed  wanted to make sure he had enough for everyone to enjoy. He must of made about 40 or so buns  and when we left he had about 3 left.  If I could have fit more in my saddle bags I would have made sure he had none left !!!!

This turned out to be a ride that I am glad I didn't miss.  It had all the things we look forward to in a ride or event.  We rode our bikes, we laughed with some good friends and we ate and ate some more.  What more could you want.!!!!

I just want to thank Pam and Mike Richards,  Nancy Redding and her family and Ed and Bonnie Kozlowski for letting us come into their beautiful homes and for making us a fantastic breakfast!

Hope to see you on the next ride.

Eilene
