Sunday morning while most of our friends were home resting from
the our Hoilday Party the night before, some of us where up and
ready for a day of adventure and fun.!!!
We had 11 bikes
decorated with holiday cheer and 15 toy toting riders as we
headed over to Jim's Harley Davidson in St. Pete. for thier
annual toy run. Roger & Christine Reed led this cute little
group of elves . We got to Jim's nice and early so we were about
at the half way mark in the line up of bikes. I heard a rumor
that there was over 2000 bikes on this run. There was great
participation from the police deparment as they escorted the
ride .
Mason Dixson and Santa led
that went down thru Venoy Park, Snell Island all the way to the
St. Pete Pier . We circled the Pier and went back to Jim's the
same way . It was a great ride. There where alot of people lined
up along the roads we rode on . We went very well prepared , we
had dozens and dozens of bead and toys that the ladies thru as
we rode . I love seeing all the kids waving and people cheering
us on as we ride.
All the money and toys that are
collected from the run are donted to area schools and charities
to help out famalies in need of help thru the holidays. It makes
you feel good to know that you may have made a famlies holiday a
little brighter !!
After the ride Jim's has a barbaque for all the
riders and some good music while you eat. A couple of people
ate at Jim's but 6 of us headed up to Smokey Bones .We had a
gret lunch said our good by's and headed home.
If you couldn't make this toy
run maybe you will be able to join us on our next toy run in
two weeks Sun Coast Brotherhood Toy Run. This is the prefect
run for someone who has never done one. It is very short. and
slow paced. Hope to see you there !!!!!!
