On  March 13th  we had our spring  Chapter Picnic .  This year the picnic was held at beautiful Taylor Park in Largo. The weather was perfect. It was a day that we haven't seen for a long time, one were you had to get out there and ride . Beautiful sunshine, small breeze and temp up around 70 - 72.  We had a very nice group of members ride their bikes to the park.  I believe we had about 28 shinny roaring bikes , and about 60 members gather for a day of riding, hanging out with good friends and doing what we love and  do best EAT !!!

     Once again we had the picnic catered by Port-A-Pit-Bar-B-Que , and once again the food was great !!  We had pulled pork, delicious chicken, pasta salad and what would a outdoor picnic be without BEANS ! We also had a big sheet cake for dessert. The chicken was sooooo good that I got back in line for seconds.  These guys did a great job . I think we will be seeing them again  at our next picnic.

     There was an observation ride that led to the picnic . It started at Fletchers and ended at the park.  We left Fletchers in small groups after getting a ride sheet from Scott and Jim who were handing them out at Fletchers after you signed up for the ride.  The ride sheet had questions on it and the answers were found at the different stops you had to make on the ride. It was alot of fun.   There was about 7 questions and then some bonus questions you could answer for extra points .  

Dennis A.  won 1st place.  There was a tie for second place with about 5 or so people. Scott wanted someone besides himself to pick the winner, so with the help of Christa and Chesters gran-daughter who happily  picked the winning ride sheet we got our 2nd place winner   Bob K . They each received a gift card for  Fletchers. 

     We also had Glo selling 50 / 50 tickets  .Jim W was the big winner of the day .  Jim had a nice smile on his face as Glo gave him his  big prize.

      As you walked around the park you enjoyed the beautiful scenery like the lake , the trees, the wild flowers, ducks and even turtles. I cauht a group of them comming out of the water to lay in the sun for a while.  It was funning watching them climb over and on top of each other to get out of the water. Their legs are so short and their shells are so big and heavy. 

     We also had our chapter mascot Savana ,( Roger and Christines baby) join us for the day. She was her usual happy self.  She just loves being with everyone and  having her picture takin. What a dog !!

     All in all it was a great picnic. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves talking , laughing  etc..... I would say this picnic was a big sucsess.
