Members Meeting

Saturday March 27th we had our monthly chapter meeting at the Long Center. This was a special meeting, our Director Roger presented the annual awards for 2009 and we had a guest speaker .

Our guest speaker for the night was Cynthia Lake from The Children's Dream Fund our big charity that we support. Cynthia talk about the Dream Fund and all the things that they do to help these boys and girls ages 3 - 18 in West Central Florida that have life - threatening illnesses with their dreams. They never let any ones dream go unfilled . She told us a little about a boy name Alex that we helped to make his dream come true. Cynthia also past around a picture of Alex for everyone to see. She also talked about our scripts gift card donations and asked us to think about ordering gift cards to help our donations grow . Each gift card has a % that they give to the dream fund.

Then it was time for the awards . First up was Christine Reed and Jim Lawrence. They each received a plaque of Appreciation for their past service. Christine for LOH and Jim for Treasury.

Then we had the big awards. First we had the award for the person who is a non officer who has volunteered and give the most time and energy to the Chapter without any compensation. Then it was time for officer rider of the year. This award goes to the officer who had the most ride points and participation. The next award was the Denis Chaisson rider of the year . This award is for a non officer chapter member who has done the most rides that year. The last award for the night was the Kathryn Kane award given to a female rider for her ride points and chapter participation.
