In Memory of Mike Mulligan

Michael "Mike" Mulligan was a former FBACC Board Member, a former Fletcher's H-D employee, and a Life Member of HOG. A visitation and memorial service was held on Thursday, April 23, 2009 at the Faupel Funeral Home in Port Richey, FL. Motorcycles were welcomed and about one hundred riders took part in a ride from Gulf Coast Harley-Davidson that was lead by Mike's brother Burke, his sister Julie, and his best friend Bob. Mike is survived by his wife of 17 years, Janice. His quick humor and warm friendship will be missed.
According to Mike: "I don't know when or why, but I've always had a fascination with the motorbike. Anything that could get me going faster than my own two legs was always greeted with a smile. My first "Ride" was on a friends scooter in 1969. I took it around the block a few times and knew I had to have something bigger and faster !!!
My first motorcycle was a 1972 750cc Honda. It was fast and it was fun. I kept that for 3 years and then sold it. My next motorcycle was a 1975 750cc Honda Super Sport. That was the first year that Honda had a 4 into 1 exhaust. I kept that for 3 years and sold it also. In 1982 I had a career change, from teaching/coaching to engineering, and was finally able to afford my first Harley-Davidson, an XL1000 Iron Head Sportster. It has been H-D ever since. One Dresser and 4 Road Kings later, I am still loving the experience. Like others, I've gone many miles and met many people but the friendliest people are riding Harley-Davidson."
